Joe Ross, ChFC, CLU, CRC – VP, Sales Productivity & Business Development
Joe Ross brings over 40 years of experience, sales aptitude and motivation to develop and deliver knowledge and skills that drive success for agents, financial advisors and wholesalers. With his unique insights and acumen, Joe has been the brainchild behind sales concepts that have driven life insurance and annuity sales for four decades.Receiving his life insurance license in 1978 at age 16, Joe went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in insurance from the University of Iowa where he was awarded the Emmett Vaughn Insurance Scholarship, given to the student deemed by Professor Vaughn most-likely to make significant contributions to the insurance industry.
In 2019 Joe received the inaugural ID-20 Award from NAILBA (the National Association of Independent Life Insurance Brokerage Agencies)… an award that recognizes “the most courageous innovators that have made a difference in the life insurance industry.”
Joe’s articles and presentations have been featured in Broker World, National Underwriter, LifeHealthPro, and ThinkAdvisor.
Joe lives in the Denver area with his wife, two daughters (now in college) and their labradoodle, Brodie. He can often be found at the racetrack in his 725 hp Roush Mustang… which is also his “daily driver”!

David McDaniel – EVP Marketing Services – Simplicity Group
Mr. McDaniel serves as Simplicity’s Vice President of Marketing. Mr. McDaniel is responsible for directing and overseeing the planning, development, and implementation of the Group’s marketing team and programs. Mr. McDaniel joined the Simplicity Group in 2015 with nearly a decade of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining the Group of companies, Mr. McDaniel worked in market research, actuarial pricing and managed the marketing programs of a medium-sized insurance carrier. Mr. McDaniel is Life and Health insurance licensed in the state of Arizona and earned a B.S. in finance from Arizona State University.Nate Williams – VP of Annuities, Allegis Advisor Group
Nate is responsible for driving all annuity sales company wide. Nate supports financial advisors with sales ideas, educational material, client seminars, product expertise, strategy sessions, and advice regarding wealth management, practice management, and income planning.Prior to joining Allegis, Nate served a Regional Vice President for both AIG and Genworth Financial in their Brokerage Division. During that time, he was honored with numerous awards including #1 RVP in 2016. Nate also served as Managing Director of Annuity Distribution for BISYS Insurance Services, growing their annuity distribution from 200 million to over 2.2 billion annually. He was President of LifeStar Financial Services where he oversaw delivery of retirement solutions and financial planning strategies to financial advisors and their clients. Nate also worked with BRAMCO Financial, one of the largest life insurance and annuity distributors in the country, as their Director of Marketing and Communication.
Nate is a registered representative with DFPG and holds a Series 6 and 63. He has a bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Utah. Nate resides in Draper, Utah with his wife and four children.
Bart Spencer – Director of DI, Allegis Advisor Group
Bart Spencer, The DI NUT, is the director of disability and long term care at Allegis Advisor Group. Starting in the insurance industry in 1992, Bart developed a passion for income protection early on. He has presented at NAIFA meetings in multiple states, Utah Health Underwriters Association, International DI Society meetings and at company events sponsored by Ameritas. Bart and his wife Sandra’s family features 6 children and 20 grand children. In his spare time Bart enjoys Dutch oven cooking and photography.Barney Tanner – National Brokerage Director – Allegis Advisor Group
Barney G. Tanner is the National Brokerage Director at Allegis Advisor Group. Allegis is an independent general brokerage agency headquartered in South Jordan, UT. Barney specializes in business owned life insurance, retirement planning and impaired risk underwriting. Before Barney began his career as an insurance professional he spent over 10 years entrenched in the middle management of the finance and accounting field.After Barney moved with his family from California to Utah, he started his insurance career as an agent with New York Life. Five years working with New York Life helped pave the way for his shift into the brokerage world where he would work with independent insurance agents/agencies. After working for a local Salt Lake City brokerage general agency specializing in impaired risks, he, along with another insurance specialist, started a boutique brokerage agency in 2012, Brokerage360.
In 2017, Brokerage360 was purchased by Allegis Advisor Group. This move provided Barney, and his agents, a more robust platform in which to compete. In his capacity as National Brokerage Director, and with the variety of Allegis tools at his disposal, Barney has positioned himself as a viable source for independent P&C agencies and employee benefit agencies looking to grow their fixed life and variable lines of business.
Barney earned his BS in Business Administration from the University of California, Riverside; and, he earned an MBA from The University of Phoenix. He and his wife, Jennifer, live in South Weber, UT with their two children, Hudson & Elizabeth. He loves being with his family, traveling, and tries to catch a college football game every now and then.
David Gruenzner – VP of Sales, Simplicity Group Life Channel
David Gruenzner serves as the VP of Sales, in the life channel focusing on proprietary products. Mr. Gruenzner is responsible for supporting marketing, training, and distribution of Simplicity Group's proprietary life insurance products and features. Prior to joining Simplicity Group, David spent over 10 years at Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America. The majority of his time there was as the Sales Director of Allianz's number one life insurance region, working with the company's largest life insurance customer, Simplicity Group. David is married with four children and resided in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area.K.C. Lane – Sales Vice President of Annuities, North American
As Sales Vice President of Annuities, K.C. Lane will be your personal relationship manager and primary contact for fixed annuity information. K.C. will also provide sales strategies and product solutions regarding North American’s fixed annuity line-up.Mr. Lane began his financial services career in 1993 as a captive agent with a career insurance company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After 15 months in the field, he took on home office duties at a major annuity company. During his five years with this carrier, he held several Sales and Marketing positions including Sales Consultant, TSA Compliance Consultant and Internal Wholesaler. K.C. has been with North American Company since October of 1999 and has held several positions in Sales and Marketing.
K.C. is life-long resident of Iowa. He is married to Jennifer and has two young adult children, Hunter and Noah, and the most beautiful granddaughter in the world, Emmerson Rose Lane. His hobbies include hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. K.C. holds his B.A. degrees in International Business and Economics and Business from Cornell College.
