Atul Gawande, in the book Being Mortal, writes of what he found working with patients in Long-Term Care and Terminal Illness situations.

Each patient regardless of the situation all eluded to two things they wanted. One was, they weren't living a life they had envisioned for themselves. The other, was they wanted their independence and dignity back.

Weekly I share insights and ideas on why Long Term Care is so critical and important to clients. When Long Term Care is presented to clients, the focus tends to be on Death Benefit, Cash Value, and Benefits. The conversation revolves around cost and risks.

Often, the concept of consequences and what it means to a family is missed. Below is a link to the next video of families speaking to the importance of having coverage and what it meant to the family. In all, they never mention the Death Benefit or Cash Value.

They do mention how having the coverage gave their loved one and the family, the ability to live a life they envisioned for themselves should this ever happen. The benefit of owning a policy is, a lifestyle you are guaranteeing yourself.

The next line is a link to click on to view the video on my GoToStage platform of GoToWebinar.   You have to provide a name an email to view.  It was the easiest way to provide access to a file of this size:

Dignity Client Testimonial Video

The three minutes of viewing may introduce a new way to think about the importance of coverage. These are a great way to share insight with clients and advisors too.

Atul Gawande writes in Being Mortal, “So this is the way it unfolds. In the absence of what people like my grandfather could count on—a vast extended family constantly on hand to let him make his own choices—our elderly are left with a controlled and supervised institutional existence, a medically designed answer to unfixable problems, a life designed to be safe but empty of anything they care about.”

Focus on what clients care about when taking Long Term Care coverage. Thanks for your support and contact Allegis so we can help clients see the lifestyle they will want to live.
